Making sure the bike is properly fitted to the rider - bars, saddle, pedals in relation to each other - is important

Check out the many saddles that are designed to minimise squashing of the blood vessels in the groin area.  None of them is universally perfect for every rider and some of them cost plenty, so finding the right one is important.

I like the SMP4Bike range.  The channel instead of just a hole makes it comfier in more riding positions (notice how you slide forwards when you are trying / climbing for instance).  There is an interesting article on the smpsaddle website that delves into the science behind the design of these saddles - ideal for long distance cyclists according to the manufacturer</description>
